A little history!
The Porte de Bourgogne is located at the end of the former Salinières moat, now the Cours Victor-Hugo (formerly the Rue des Fossés), on the site of the former medieval Porte des Salinières. It marks the official entrance to the town on the old road leading to Paris. Tourny wanted it to accompany the Place Royale (now the Place de la Bourse) and dedicated it to Prince Monseigneur the Duke of Burgundy on 24 January 1757.
For a time, it was known as the Porte Napoléon to celebrate the Emperor's arrival in Bordeaux in 1808.

Le Victor Very spacious and well equipped apartment with a wonderful view over the St. Michel Cathedral and neighbourhood. The apartment is very centrally located just on the border of the more gentrified parts of Bordeaux and the Capucins neighbourhood with the food market and more.

Le Victor The interior of the apartment was lovely. The geological location was great. BUT there was criminal activity 24:7 outside the front door which you had to pass to get into the building. I believe it was unsafe and unfortunately I couldn’t recommend it as a place to stay.
