Why Didn't I Receive My Booking Confirmation?
If you've booked a vacation rental through Holidu, Booking.com, or Airbnb and haven't received your booking confirmation email, don't worry. This is a common issue with simple solutions. Follow the steps below to locate your confirmation or identify why it might not have arrived.
Understanding Your Booking Confirmation Emails
When you complete a booking, you should receive confirmation emails from the booking platform and potentially from Holidu or the property host. These emails typically contain important information such as your booking reference, confirmation number, check-in details, and host contact information.
If your payment was confirmed, you'll receive emails including your booking ID and host contact details. The exact emails you receive depend on which platform you used to make your reservation.
Step 1: Search Your Email Inbox
Start by checking all folders in your email account, as confirmation emails sometimes end up in unexpected locations.
Where to Look:
- Your main Received or Inbox folder
- Spam folder
- Junk folder
- Promotions folder (if using Gmail)
- Other filtered folders in your email client
Use the search function in your email to look for keywords like "booking confirmation," "reservation," or "booking reference." Try searching for the property name or destination as well.
Step 2: Check Your Booking Account
If you cannot find your confirmation email, log into your booking account on the platform where you made your reservation. Your booking details are stored there and accessible at any time.
For Booking.com Reservations:
- Log into your Booking.com account
- Navigate to the "Bookings" section
- Find your booking and note your booking reference number
- Search your email inbox using this booking reference to locate what folder the confirmation email may have been sorted into
For Holidu Direct Bookings:
- Log into your Holidu guest account
- Go to "My Bookings"
- Check your booking ID
- Search your email inbox with the booking ID to find what folder the confirmation email went to
For Airbnb Reservations:
- Log into your Airbnb account
- Go to "Trips" to view your reservation details
- Find your booking reference within the message thread with the host
- Search your email inbox with this booking reference to locate where the confirmation email may have been sorted
Your confirmation email from Airbnb includes important information such as your check-in form link and is sent through your Airbnb account messaging system.
Why You Might Not Have Received Your Confirmation Email
Common Reasons:
- Email Filtering: Confirmation emails are frequently caught by spam filters or sorted into promotional folders
- Incorrect Email Address: You may have provided an incorrect email address during booking
- Email Server Issues: Temporary email delivery problems can delay or prevent receipt
- Full Inbox: Your email account storage may be full, preventing new emails from arriving
- Unconfirmed Payment: If your payment wasn't confirmed, you may not receive all confirmation emails
What to Do If You Still Cannot Find Your Confirmation
If you've searched thoroughly and cannot locate your booking confirmation, your reservation details remain safely stored in your account. You can always access your booking information by logging into the platform where you made your reservation.
For future reference, consider adding noreply@booking.com, noreply@airbnb.com, and our Holidu email addresses to your contacts to ensure confirmation emails reach your inbox rather than being filtered.
Accessing Your Booking Information Without the Confirmation Email
You do not need the confirmation email to complete your stay. All essential booking information is available in your account dashboard:
- Your booking reference or confirmation number
- Property address and check-in instructions
- Host contact information
- Check-in and check-out dates and times
- Booking cost and payment details
Log into your account on the relevant platform anytime before your arrival to access this information.
