Generating Your Property Description

A clear, well-structured property description helps guests choose your home. Holidu's Description Generator builds the text for you in a few clicks, in eight languages, so you don't have to write from scratch.

How To Get Started

Follow these steps to generate your property description:

1. Log in to the Holidu Homes website or app and access your property.
2. Click on Title & Description. Note: This option only appears once you've completed the Amenities section and some of the information in General Information.
3. Make sure the Amenities section is complete and accurate. The Description Generator uses this information to build your text, so it's important that all relevant features and services are selected.
4. In the Description Generator, you can let the tool create a description automatically, or select "Provide your own text" to submit your own version. Our system will adapt this input to meet platform requirements.

1. Use the sections Essential details for guests and Other details to add any extra information you'd like included.

1. When everything is ready, click Generate at the bottom right of the page. Your description will be created.
2. You can view the result in other available languages by using the dropdown menu above the text.

Channel specific:

Please note that the "Info" section displayed on Booking.com is automatically generated by the platform based on the active facilities and features configured in the listing. As a result, Holidu does not have direct control over the content shown in this section.

1. Once generated, you can:
   • Accept and use the suggested description
   • Regenerate a new version
   • Edit the description
   • Leave feedback so we can keep improving the generator

How To Do If You Manage a Multi-Unit Property

If you manage a multi-unit property, follow this two-step process to generate descriptions for all your units:

1. Go to Global configuration > Global title & description and generate the main text for the entire property.
2. Then, go to each individual unit via Units > Unit title & description, and generate their respective descriptions one by one.

This approach ensures that your main property has a comprehensive overview while each unit has its own tailored description.

Making Edits to the Description

If you'd like to change the generated text, follow these steps:

1. Click Edit at the bottom right of the description.
2. Modify the content as needed — you can correct typos, update amenities, or include more specific details.
3. Choose whether to apply your edits to:
   • Only the current language, or
   • All translated versions (recommended for important updates like check-in times, pool availability, or parking)

After making your edits, save the changes by clicking the save button.

Updating an Existing Description

If your property already has a description and you want to update it, you can either edit directly in Title and Description or follow this process:

1. Go to your property page.
2. Update the Amenities section with any new or changed services and features.
3. Navigate to the Description section.
4. Click on "Generate new description".
5. Add or adjust any relevant details in the available fields.
6. Click Generate to create a new description.
7. Compare it to the current one and click Use new description if you'd like to replace it.

This process ensures that your updated amenities are reflected in your property description across all languages.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Why can't I just use my own text?

Holidu generates descriptions structured for visibility and accuracy across the booking channels we publish to. This allows us to:

• Provide translations into eight languages
• Follow the formatting and content guidelines of distribution channels
• Support the discoverability of your listing

If you want to use your own description, after the Holidu description is generated, click on "Edit" and add the exact text you want. Our tool will adjust it to comply with the rules of distribution channels.

Can I personalize the description?

Yes. You can adjust and personalize your description by editing it. Simply click the "Edit" button and make any changes you'd like to the text. You have full control over personalizing your property's presentation while maintaining compliance with distribution channel requirements.

What if the text is incorrect?

You can edit or regenerate the description at any time. Just make sure the Amenities section is up to date, as it is the foundation for the text generation. If you regenerate the description, our system will use the updated amenities to create a new, more accurate version of your property description.
