How to Close a Duplicated Property Listing on Booking.com
Overview
If you have accidentally created a duplicated property listing on Booking.com, you can close it by removing all room types or units from the property. This guide will walk you through the process of closing your duplicate listing directly from the Booking.com Extranet.
Before You Start
Before proceeding, make sure you are removing the duplicate listing and not your active property. Double-check your property details to ensure you have selected the correct listing to close.
Step-by-Step: Removing a Duplicated Property
Step 1: Log in to the Booking.com Extranet
Navigate to admin.booking.com and log in with your credentials. Make sure you have access to the property account associated with the duplicate listing.
Step 2: Select the Duplicate Property and Navigate to Room Details
From the top menu, select the Property tab. Choose the duplicate property you want to close from the list. Then select Room details (this may also appear as Property layout depending on your account view).
Step 3: Find the Room or Unit to Remove
In the list of room types displayed, locate the first room or unit you want to delete. Review the information to confirm this is part of the duplicate listing.
Step 4: Delete the Room or Unit
Select the option to delete the room or unit. Confirm the deletion when prompted. Once confirmed, the room or unit will be removed from your property page.
Repeat this step for all remaining room types and units in the duplicate property. The duplicate listing will be closed once all rooms and units have been removed.
Step 5: Retry Publishing (If Applicable)
If you are using Holidu as your distribution channel, navigate to the Distribution channel tab of your property. If an error message is displayed for the Booking.com channel, click the link to retry publishing (labeled "click here"). It will take a few minutes for your changes to be processed on Booking.com.
Important: Handling Upcoming Reservations
If there are upcoming reservations linked to a room or unit, the Delete option will not be available. You will only see options to Edit or Upload photos.
You cannot permanently delete a room or unit until all upcoming reservations have been fulfilled and guests have checked out. Once all reservations are complete, you will be able to delete the room or unit and close the duplicate listing.
