There are only a few pink beaches around the world and Crete boasts two of them. These beaches are Balos and Elafonisi, and they have to be seen to be believed. Start this 10 mile hike in Omalos Plateau at the viewing platform and make your way to the “Iron Gates”, where the ravine tapers to 50 feet (4 metres).
