Verifying your account as a private host on Holidu is an important step to ensure secure transactions and build trust with guests. This comprehensive guide will walk you through the entire verification process, from preparing your documents to completing your account setup.

What You Need to Know Before Starting

Account verification on Holidu can only be completed by the primary account holder. This process ensures that your personal information, identity, and payout details are authentic and secure. By following these steps, you can quickly and easily verify your data with Holidu.

The verification process typically takes between a few minutes (if you use instant verification) to 72 hours (if you choose manual verification). We've included video explanations and a downloadable PDF guide with screenshots at the bottom of this page to help you every step of the way.

Step 1: Gather Your Documents

Before you begin the verification process, make sure you have all necessary documents ready. Please note that only clear photos or official digital downloads of original documents will be accepted. Scanned documents are not permitted by our payment provider.

You will need:

  • Official identification (passport, driving licence, or national ID card)
  • Proof of bank account ownership (such as a recent bank statement or deposit slip dated within the last 12 months)
  • If you are a freelancer, sole trader, or sole proprietor, your business registration number

Step 2: Access Your Account Settings

To start the verification process, follow these instructions:

  • Log into your Holidu account and navigate to the Account tab
  • Look for the Validate button and click it to begin the verification process
  • You may be asked to sign a new agreement during this process. Simply accept to continue. This agreement does not affect your current pricing

Step 3: Verify Your Personal Information

The next step involves reviewing and confirming your personal details.

Follow these instructions:

  • Click on Personal Details to begin this section
  • Review the information that has been pre-filled based on your Holidu account
  • If any information needs editing, click the Edit button to make corrections
  • Add any missing information or update anything that may be incorrectly configured
  • Click Next to proceed to the next section
  • At the bottom of the form, select whether your bank account is registered in your personal name or under your sole proprietorship or business name
  • If applicable, provide your business registration number and business address
  • Click Next to continue

Step 4: Confirm Your Address

Your address must match the address on your official identification document.

To complete this step:

  • Enter your address in the search field provided
  • The system will automatically fill in the address details as you type
  • Verify that the address matches exactly with your ID document
  • If your billing address is different from your personal address, update it to match your ID address

Step 5: Verify Your Identity with an ID Document

Identity verification is a crucial part of the account verification process. You have two options to choose from based on your preference and circumstances.

Option 1: Instant Verification (Recommended)

Instant verification is the fastest option and provides immediate results in most cases.

To use instant verification:

  • Select the country that issued your identification document
  • Choose your document type (passport, driving licence, or national ID card)
  • Confirm that your document matches all the personal information you have entered
  • Scan the QR code displayed on your screen using your mobile phone, or alternatively request the link via SMS
  • Use your phone camera to take clear, high-quality photos of both the front and back of your document
  • Submit your photos for immediate verification

Option 2: Manual Verification

If you prefer to submit documents manually or do not have access to a camera for instant verification, you can upload documents from your computer.

To use manual verification:

  • Select your document type from the dropdown menu
  • Upload high-quality photos of your document from your computer
  • Ensure the photos are clear, well-lit, and show the entire document
  • Click Next to submit your documents
  • Allow up to 72 hours for our team to review and verify your identity

Step 6: Verify Your Payout Details

Verifying your payout information ensures that payments from your bookings are securely transferred to your bank account.

Make sure your bank account details match the name you provided in the personal information section.

Option 1: Instant Verification

Instant verification through online banking is the quickest method.

To complete instant verification:

  • Select your online banking provider from the list
  • Click the button to log into your bank account through Tink, our secure payment verification partner
  • Your login information is never stored by Holidu or Tink. It is only used temporarily to verify your account ownership
  • Complete the authentication process as requested by your bank

Option 2: Manual Verification

If you prefer not to connect your online banking, you can manually upload bank documents instead.

To complete manual verification:

  • Manually enter your complete bank account details
  • Upload a recent bank document that is dated within the last 12 months
  • Ensure the document clearly shows your name, IBAN, and for non-EU residents, the bank location
  • Click Next to submit your information
  • Please allow up to 72 hours for verification of manually submitted documents

Step 7: Provide Sole Proprietor or Sole Trader Details

If you selected that your bank account is registered under a sole proprietorship, freelance business, or sole trader business, you will need to provide additional business information.

Please provide the following details:

  • Your business legal name exactly as it appears on your official registration documents
  • Your business registration number (you may indicate if you do not have one)
  • Your business address, which must match your legal business address on file

Step 8: Review and Sign the Service Agreement

The final step requires you to review and accept the service agreement from Adyen, our trusted payment provider.

To complete this step:

  • Carefully read through the service agreement provided
  • Review all terms and conditions
  • Click the Sign button at the bottom of the agreement to complete the verification process

Step 9: Complete Your Verification

Your verification status depends on which verification method you selected.

If you used instant verification for both your identity and payout details, your account status should update immediately to show your account is verified and active.

If you chose manual verification for any section, please allow up to 72 hours for our team to review your submitted documents. You can monitor the status of your verification at any time by logging into your Holidu account. Your status will change from In Review to Complete once the verification process is finished. We will also send you an email notification when your verification is complete.

Tips for a Smooth and Successful Verification Process

Document Quality

Ensure that all photos and documents you submit are clear, well-lit, and fully visible. Poor image quality may result in delays or rejection of your documents, extending the verification timeline.

Consistent Information

Make certain that the information on all your documents matches exactly. Pay special attention to names, addresses, and spelling. Inconsistencies between documents may cause verification delays.

Email Communication

Monitor your email inbox regularly during the verification process. We may need to contact you with updates or request additional information to complete your verification. Respond promptly to any communication from our team.

Address Accuracy

Double-check that all addresses you enter match exactly with the address on your official identification document. Mismatched addresses are a common reason for verification delays.

Document Dates

If submitting bank statements or other documents with dates, ensure they are recent and meet our requirements. Bank documents should typically be dated within the last 12 months.
