The church of São Francisco is the last Gothic monument in Porto. It was finished in 1425. Admire the redecorated interiors with lavish woodworks, the old vaults, pillars and carved panels representing cherubs and foliage. From the outside you can admire the apse and the main entrance, with a rose window on the portal.

Foz do Douro is where the river Douro enters the ocean. Stroll along the long promenade lined with palm trees and pines. You can see the Pergola da Foz, that was put there in the 1930s by the mayor. From the lighthouses that guided vessels for 120 years, you will find the perfect spot to photograph the mouth of the Douro into the ocean and capture the strength of the sea crashing against the breakwater and creating impressive waves.
