More than anything else, Albufeira is famous for its rambunctious party scene. The Strip, located in the Montechoro area of town, 3 km from Albufeira's town centre, is the pulsating heart of the town’s nightlife, with clubs and bars galore. As the sun goes down and the neon lights come on, the Strip opens up for Portugal's liveliest and rowdiest nightlife!. Looking for a more upmarket night out? Then the bars and restaurants in Albufeira's pedestrianized old town centre await you with a cocktail in hand!

And there is more! Albufeira is in the heart of the Algarve, which is famed for its world-leading golfing culture. All golfers must make the pilgrimage to this part of the world at least once in their life if they are to pass into golfing heaven. Closest to Albufeira is the 18-hole Salgados Golf Course on the west side of town, a 'Links' style course which includes many water hazards, and a highly popular 9-hole course on the east side of the town, the Pine Cliffs Golf Course, perched 70 metres above the golden sands and blue water of the Atlantic Ocean.

The Albufeira Marina is a new development located to the west of the old town. Best-known for its candy-coloured apartment blocks, it offers visitors a variety of shops, restaurants and bars. Do a spot of shopping then luxuriate in the great assortment of dining options as you enjoy the ocean breeze.

Family days out don’t get much more memorable than Zoomarine. Open from March to October, it is the Algarve’s number one attraction. Don’t miss the incredible Dolphin Emotions experience, awesome waterslides and wavepools, exotic birds of prey, and 4D cinema!

This is Portugal’s largest and best waterpark, located in the nearby village of Quarteira. Be brave and slide down the biggest FreeFall slide in Europe at 129 meters in length. And take a trip in and out of the water on one of the longest water roller coasters in the world at 740 meters.

The Cataplana is an item of Portuguese cookware used to prepare traditional seafood dishes. Spend an evening at the Mimo Algarve Cooking School, which offers a supper club where you can enjoy an evening of unique local food cooked in this traditional way. And of course, try your hand at cooking one of these dishes yourself.

Olhos d'Água is a small, fishermen's village 10 minutes’ drive from Albufeira, and it makes for a wonderful day trip. It boasts hilly, cobble-stone streets that are bursting with the kaleidoscopic life synonymous with the Algarve. The beach is simply gorgeous, with pine-clad cliffs and rocky promontories, and in the evening there's a fantastic choice of lush restaurants.

Now how about a spot of high roping through a treetop assault course? Located in verdurous woods near Praia da Oura, Parque Aventura consists of a series of games and trails set at varying heights between the trees. Overcome a wide range of obstacles in order to complete the course, including a giddy ropewalk and the daunting Monkey's Bridge.

Albufeira's boisterous hub draws locals and tourists alike to its plethora of restaurants, cafés, and snack bars. After dark, buskers and street artists come out to entertain the throngs, the music is turned up, and the alcohol doesn’t stop flowing until deep in the morning!
