The funicular train takes visitors up an incredible 496 metres above the lake, starting from the Lake Como quayside and terminating at the charming village of Brunate. Take the funicular for one of the best views of the area and a fun trip up and down the mountain.

150 metres above Brunate, the Volte Lighthouse gives you magnificent views over the Alps. The lighthouse is named after Como-born scientist Alessandro Volta, credited with the invention of the battery.

You’ve seen it from above, now take the ferry from one Lake Como town to another and take in the vistas from the water. Choose a ferry with a bar and sip a glass of wine as the dramatic mountains open up in front of you.
